Reggie Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) plays the widow of a thief who has just been murdered. She befriends Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) to help her as her husbands cronies try to find the lost loot. But is he in on it ?


Part one Starts off with a slow pan of the sky at night, when suddenly Charles Lampert gets dumped train...into some very cool vintage '60s credits roll. Great graphics with Henry Mancini music. Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) meets Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) while on vacation. She hates her husband Charles and is charmed by Peter. Ahhh - but her husband is already dead. Part two When she returns - the house is gutted. Her husband has been murdered and it seems his real name was Charles Voss. Walter Matthau plays Mr Bartholomew, a CIA administrative agent working at the American Embassy in Paris. At Charles' funeral - we meet his old army buddies, Herman Scobie, played by George Kennedy, Tex - JamesCoburn and Gideon -Ned Glass.
Part three Peter walks her to the hotel when Herman busts on and starts threatening her. Peter saves the day - then Reggie gets a call from Herman and tells her Peter is really Dyle, and he's after the money too. So Reggie runs off to Mr Bartholomew - who explains the history of the theft in WWII. Part 3 includes with the big fight on the roof between Cary Grant and George "Mr. Hook" Kennedy. All seems okay - then Reggie gets a call from the bad guys.

Part four Reggie learns that Peter was lying to her all along about who he was. But wait - who is he. We're not really sure what is going on yet. The plot gets more and more twisted. This part also features the incredible fight scene on the roof with Scobie's hook swinging wildly at Peter Joshua.
Part five Jean-Louis, the little boy is back safe and sound (he was held hostage) - and with Reggie is looking for the hidden loot left by Charles. Meanwhile - Herman Scobie (Kennedy) is found dead in a bathtub. Then - Reggie is off for some romance with Alex (Cary's new name) when she gets a call from Mr. Bartholomew - Carson didn't have a brother (beware of Alex!!)

Part six Adam (Cary's new name) and Reggie figure out some clues and they are off to the park. So that's where all the money was hiding... watch the conclusion for even more twists. Part seven All the loose ends come together as they figure out where Charles has hid all that money. Jean-Louis is missing again. And who should Reggie trust? Watch the exciting conclusion to Charade and find out.
